Have you ever played with Lego blocks?

Well, with them, you can create everything you can imagine.

When we talk it's just like that, each word is a building block that will help us create from the most epic tales to the most basic aspects of our day-to-day life.

  

What are parts of speech?

Parts of speech are like the building blocks of language.

Each block (word) has a different function, and sometimes it can have more than one.

When we put together all these blocks, we create sentences and communicate with others.

Which are the main parts of speech?

The main parts of speech that we'll see in this OER (Open Educational Resource) are the following:

 Nouns,  Pronouns,  Verbs,  Adverbs,  Adjectives, 
 
Prepositions,  Conjunction,  Interjection 

Objetives

In this OER we will see the following:

  • Identify and understand the 8 types of parts of speech (nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc.) in English.
  • Accurately describe each type of part of speech, recognizing its function within a sentence.
  • Apply the knowledge gained through practical activities that reinforce the understanding and use of each type of part of speech.
