What is the United Nations?

The United Nations is an international organization. It was founded in 1945 after the Second World War.

Currently, it is made up of 193 member states. The UN Headquarter is located in New York City. The UN has six official languages that are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. 

What does the UN do?

The main goal of the UN is to maintain global peace and security. More specicially, the UN has five main goals

1. Maintain international peace and security 

2. Protect human rights 

3. Deliver humanitarian aid 

4. Promote sustainable development 

5. Uphold international law.
